The Lao People’s Democratic Republic is a country located in the Southeast Asia. A landlocked country, Laos shares its borders with China, Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam and Thailand. Buddhism is the predominant religion in Laos with approximately 67% of the people being Theravada Buddhists. The country is divided into 16 provinces and a prefecture.
