East Timor or the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste is located in Southeast Asia. It extends between 8 deg and 10 deg S latitudes and 124 deg and 128 deg E longitudes. A unitary Parliamentary democracy, it is spread over an area of 14,874 square kms. The population of the land is approximately 1 million comprising predominantly of Roman Catholics. Dili is the capital of the land. Tetum and Portuguese are the official languages. The US Dollar is the official currency here. The President is the Head of State. The country is divided into 13 administrative districts which are further subdivided into 65 subdistricts, 442 villages or sucos and 2,225 hamlets or aldeias.
