The Republic of Turkey is a country that lies in Western Asia between 35 and 43 deg N latitudes and 25 and 45 deg E longitudes. The country shares its borders with Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq and Syria. Ankara is the capital of Turkey. Turkish is the official language. Istanbul holds the distinction of being the largest city. Islam is the predominant religion in Turkey however, with a secular policy the country does not have any specific official state religion.
